Newham Collegiate Sixth Form Centre.
One of the best sixth forms in London for student outcomes.
Now in our second decade of outstanding A-Level results, this year’s NCS students will go on to study at the world’s best Ivy League and Russell Group universities – including Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, LSE, Imperial and King’s College London – ready and focussed to join some of the brightest minds around the world.
Two years ago, our students embarked on an academic journey at Newham Collegiate. Today, we’re thrilled to announce their outstanding A-Level results for 2026, which stand shoulder to shoulder with some of the UK’s most renowned independent and grammar schools.
“There is a real sense that the school is replicating many of the outstanding features of a private school education, providing its students with opportunities that would not necessarily be available in a normal state school.”
Good Schools Guide on The NCS
Our commitment to excellence is evident in our consistent performance. This year, our students achieved 78% A*-A and 98% A*-B
For the eleventh consecutive year, ALPS has ranked Newham Collegiate in the Top 1% of all schools in the UK, including grammar schools, based on student progress. This signifies that NCS students outperform their peers in 99% of other schools, given the same GCSE grades upon entry.
We’re also proud of our students’ achievements beyond A-Levels. This year, we witnessed a record number of offers from Oxbridge, as well as courses in Medicine and Dentistry. A remarkable 95% of students received offers from Russell Group Universities. Furthermore, 15 students have also secured high-profile degree apprenticeships with leading companies such as KPMG, Deloitte, Amazon, AstraZeneca, and Dyson, providing them with unique internships, training, and grants to cover further education costs.
On this year’s results, NCS Principal Anita Lomax commented,
“Congratulations to our Sixth Form students at The NCS on achieving yet another outstanding set of A-Level results. These exceptional outcomes reflect the continued year-on-year improvement at The NCS, firmly securing our position as one of the leading sixth forms in London for A-Level achievement.
Behind every result is a young person who has been given the space to discover who they are, not just what grade they can achieve.
Through our Emerging Talent Programme, specialist Professional Schools, and Elite University Preparation, our students don’t follow a single path, they find their own.
Whether that’s a future doctor discovering their niche through real clinical exposure, a future lawyer testing their interests across chambers and firms, or a future engineer realising their passion lies in the theory rather than the application, our students leave with something no exam board can grade: genuine self-knowledge, confidence, and direction.
This is what elevates outcomes for NCS students and is the power of our holistic A-Level offer. Because an individual who knows exactly why they’re aiming for the Ivy League, Oxbridge, a Russell Group university, or a specific career, will always outperform one who’s simply been pointed towards it.
Celebrating our first ten years of A-Level results
When we enrolled our first cohort in 2014, we were guided by our vision as educators to inspire our students to go on to do what inspires them with a holistic education that is formed by a mix of academic enrichment, soft skills development and relevant and purposeful work placements and sector specific support.
Ten years on from our first set of A-Level results, that vision remains a key foundation of daily life at Newham Collegiate and is now fully realised with alumni knowing their careers are making a real difference to everyday society.

Student and Alumni Stories
Yeva was looking for a sixth form that could match her academic ambition
She discovered a collaborative environment that took her to study at Harvard
Watch Yeva's NCS Story - NCS Finance School to Harvard!
Driven by a desire to be challenged intellectually, Yeva joined The NCS from St Catherine’s Catholic School for Girls after securing ten Grade 9s at GCSE. With a passion for finance and a deep curiosity about the world, Yeva found The NCS’ learning environment valued academic discussion, encouraged independence, which subsequently helped her secure a place at Harvard University.
Yeva came to The NCS knowing that she wanted more than strong A-Level results. She wanted to be part of a learning community that valued academic rigour and would stretch her thinking far beyond the curriculum. The pre-reading culture at The NCS was initially a challenge, but she soon found it helped develop independence, critical thinking, and genuine curiosity. Combined with knowledgeable teachers who displayed passion for their subjects, Yeva found that this environment made her a stronger learner.
Her journey at The NCS was shaped not only by the classroom, but also by the specialist programmes on offer. Through The NCS Finance School, she gained real-world insight by pitching to professionals and exploring areas of economics and global finance. Our extensive offer to prepare students for competitive applications to the world’s elite universities meant that Yeva was supported with mock interviews, one to one mentoring from alumni, and targeted preparation for aptitude tests which helped her make a competitive and successful application to study at the Ivy League in America.
Through all the hard work, Yeva found the real value at The NCS was its belief in her potential and the daily experience of being surrounded by other students who had the same drive for success. She’s just completed her first year of studying at Harvard University in the USA.
"The NCS has a holistic approach to education that's not just about grades, but it's also about becoming the best version of yourself."

Darnell took a leap of faith and joined our first cohort in 2014
The NCS helped him build a foundation for a successful career in finance
Discover Darnell's journey from NCS to success in Finance
Darnell was the second student to enrol at The NCS on a summery August morning in 2014. He was taking a ‘leap of faith’ in joining a new and unproven sixth form built on a promise and vision. He then applied all the lessons and skills he gained with us and made another leap into the world of finance where he now has a thriving career in the City of London’s investment banking sector. Ten years on, he reflects on how The NCS vision was realised and shares his advice with the students following in his footsteps.
When The NCS opened its doors to students ten years ago, Darnell was literally one of the first to walk through them. As the second ever student to enrol, he joined having just received his GCSE results from Lister Community School. As you’ll see in our video catch up, we filmed him at that exact moment to discover what he expected. With no track record to back the promises we made to our students, he decided to take a leap of faith, hoping we’d prepare him for a career in finance.
Two years later, after collecting his A-Level results he took another leap into the then unconventional path of joining a school leaver programme instead of going to university. This 12-month program provided hands-on experience, leading to a permanent role in investment operations in London.
The NCS played a crucial role in solidifying Darnell’s journey into adulthood. He emphasises the importance of students learning from The NCS, not just academically but holistically, “The journey doesn’t just start and end with NCS. Use it as a stepping stone to achieve what you set out to achieve.”
Sahil wanted a sixth form that would inspire his ambitions
The NCS provided an environment that pushed him further than he imagined
Watch Sahil's NCS Story - Discovering Physics to cracking the Oxford PAT
Motivated by a desire to attend a sixth form that would nurture his interest in engineering, Sahil joined The NCS from Stepney All Saints School. Within days he was drawn to the breadth of opportunities available at The NCS, including the unique Engineering School which helped him discover where to focus his interests in the sector. Through his time here, Sahil discovered his passion for physics and is now studying at the University of Oxford.
Before starting his journey at The NCS Sahil had high expectations, he soon found they were exceeded in ways he hadn’t anticipated. The NCS Engineering School provided lectures and practical working alongside students at UCL as part of Project X, all experiences that went far beyond the confines of a traditional A-Level classroom. Through the Engineering School’s guidance and discussions with his expert teachers on the sector, Sahil realised what interested him the most was the physics side, leading to further value adding opportunities such as the Orbyts space project.
Sahil also benefited from dedicated Oxbridge application support at The NCS, including rigorous preparation for Oxford’s challenging Physics Aptitude Test (PAT) and tailored guidance from enthusiastic, knowledgeable teachers and alumni. The combination of exceptional teaching, real-world projects, and personalised support helped Sahil become confident in his abilities, ultimately achieving his ambition of securing an offer from Oxford.
"As an NCS student, you have an advantage when applying to Oxbridge."

At The NCS Lukenny learned the value of focus, hard work and resilience.
He’s carried that into university & work in the NHS during the pandemic.
Discover Lukenny's journey into Medicine & how The NCS shaped his work ethic
Admitting to many “tribulations” in his pre-undergraduate studies, Lukenny also talks warmly of how The NCS nurtured and taught him the rewards of working hard in an environment that housed other like minded students. He saw that same NCS quality at Imperial College London and after acing his A-Levels, decided it would be the perfect place to develop his skills in medicine.
Lukenny earned A* A* A* at A-Levels and is now studying Medicine at Imperial College London. During the pandemic he’s also been working in the NHS which, despite being challenging, has shown him the rewarding nature of his chosen field.
Staff at The NCS took Lukenny under their wings and taught him how to gain the best from the opportunities presented to him and how to focus and work hard to achieve his goals. More than the academics and enrichment provided as part of The NCS Med School, it’s this quality of the teachers and the relationships he forged that he speaks most fondly of. “Whilst I had a lot of tribulations at The NCS, it was also one of those things where I would never ever take it back. I learned so much at The NCS. So much more than just books. So much about life. So much of knowing to stick through the tough times. That atmosphere taught me to never give in to the challenges. I would definitely recommend it to any students that want to go far.”
