Sixth Form Application Guide
1. Research Thoroughly
Understand what makes The NCS unique. Browse our website, follow us on social media such as Instagram, and watch videos featuring our students and teachers. This research will help you tailor your application to match our ethos and values.
2. Write a Personal Statement That Shines
Your personal statement is your opportunity to showcase who you are. Include:
- Why you chose The NCS: Use your research to explain what excites you about our sixth form. This is where your research comes in useful. Where do your goals align with ours? How do you see The NCS supporting you on your journey?
- Your ambitions: Discuss your goals, even if they’re not career-specific. We want to know what interests you and what you might want to do with your life and future career. How might studying at The NCS aid your aims?
- Hobbies and interests: Share extracurricular activities that demonstrate your skills and character. It doesn’t have to be related to your career goals, we love to meet students with a wide range of interests from academia, creativity, to helping and supporting others. If it highlights who you are as a person include it in your statement.

3. Double-Check Every Detail
Accuracy is crucial. Review all details in your application, from contact information to predicted grades. A flawless submission reflects your attention to detail and commitment to excellence. You can save your progress and return to the form at a later time to help ensure everything is correct, there’s no benefit to being the first person to submit the form.
Once you’ve submitted your completed form, you won’t be able to make changes.
4. Choose the Right Subjects
Match your subject choices to your strengths and ambitions. Ask advice from your teachers if you’re unsure. Make use of our subject selection tool to find which subjects are useful for typical university courses.
Our entry requirements page will help you ensure your predicted grades meet our criteria.
